The Junior Construction Project Manager possess the willingness to learn and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the senior Management team. The incumbent will work closely with the Construction Projects Manager(s) as well as fulfill an integral role on the project.
REPORTS TO:
This position reports to the Construction Project Manager(s) of APM MacLean located in Mount Uniacke NS.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising construction projects.
Support senior project managers in tracking budgets, schedules, and project deliverables.
Communicate with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress, enforce safety standards, and resolve issues.
Prepare project documentation, including reports, contracts, and change orders.
Identify potential risks and assist in problem-solving to mitigate delays.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and company policies.
Assist in procurement and management of materials, equipment, and labor.
Maintain effective communication between site personnel, clients, and management.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
Ensure APM MacLean safety requirements are carried out at ALL times
Meet or exceed project schedule and budget expectations
Develop a positive and collaborative relationship with all stakeholders (Client Representative, Site Superintendent etc.)
Timely handling of CCO’s, CO’s, and CD’s in addition to monthly billing
QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma/certification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field preferred
1–3 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or a similar role.
Minimum 5 years’ work experience in Canada
Ability to perform financial and mathematical analysis
Strong understanding of construction processes, blueprints, and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, or Primavera).
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Knowledge of Canadian building codes and safety regulations is an asset.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.
